Wayanad Thrills

Wayanad Thrills is a Non-Profit Organization of Professional Off-Roaders, with the aim of promoting Adventure tourism & Off-roading in Wayanad.

Wayanad is gearing up to host ‘Wayanad Thrills’, a two-day off-road cross country drive and skill drive, on November 9 and 10. The event aims to  attract adventure tourists from across the world and also to introduce the sport in the regional market.
The drive will be the first of its kind as the profit from the show will be donated to the Pain and Palliative Care Centre at Kalpetta. Fifty vehicles with more than 130 participants have already registered for the show.
“It is for the first time that a driving sport is being organised for a charitable cause. Besides this, we are not distributing the prize money to the winners. A trophy with a certificate and complimentary stay by one of our sponsors will be the prize,” said Shibu Varghese, one of the organisers.
Since most of the participants are from outside the state, the first day of the event will be a trial drive, where the participants will be taken around Wayanad to give them a feel about the conditions they have to compete under.
The competition on the second day will be divided into two stages. The tracks for the competition were designed with the help of veteran jeeper Sibi Paul.  The registration fee for the competition is `4,000 per participant.
